Crossing #4.
After much debate about skipping the Bahamas entirely this year, we were reminded that we'll be new grandparents this year, and that just MAY impact our future cruising plans. We certainly hope not, but just in case .....
On March 14, we had a lovely extended window to cross so we did. Lake Worth to the Abacos.
One of our nicest crossings yet. Wind to sail but calm waters in Gulf Stream.
And being back on the banks again, with that beautiful water, made the trip worth it.
2016 was the year of crappy weather in these parts, and things didn't change much as Spring rolled around. It seemed that every 4 days a nasty front moved in. Which meant we spent most of our sailing time running from one safe anchorage to the next. Fortunately, in the Abacos, there are many choices between Marsh Harbour, Treasure Cay and Hopetown.

Our good friend, Robert, came over for his Spring Break from teaching. He got to witness more wicked weather than sunny days ... but, hey, anyone can enjoy sun on the beach, but can you enjoy a 50knots squall at anchor, in the dark, with other boats dragging all around you?
